Beringen (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The Garnizoen music festival in Beringen attracted 5,000 people with 2 stages of music. DJ Klaps, from Beringen, performed. The festival focused on safety, with a no-drug policy.

5,000 people went to the  Garnizoen music festival at the old coal mine in Beringen, province of Limburg, Belgium, on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The organisers are very happy with how it went. They say the festival was successful because it had 2 stages with different kinds of music. The Kolenwasserij stage had loud, fast music for people who like high energy.

The Charbon stage had slower, more relaxed music. They mentioned that the festival was also special because it was held at the old mine, which has a rough, industrial feel. The organisers are confident that Garnizoen is now a popular festival and that it started the new festival season off well.

How did DJ Klaps kick off his summer tour at Garnizoen?

DJ Klaps, who is from Beringen, was happy to play at Garnizoen. He recognised many of the crowd members, and that made it special to him. He stated that it was fun to play in front of people he knew, and it was as if everyone was together.

He mentioned that he had a great time playing at Garnizoen, and it was a good way to start his busy summer tour. He said that Garnizoen is becoming more popular, and it’s a big event for people who like electronic music in the area.

DJ Klaps wants to release a lot of music this year. He already has 4 songs out and will release more soon. He said that his new songs differ from his previous songs. He stated that he is going to perform at many festivals this summer, and Tomorrowland is one of them. Klaps wishes to introduce his new songs to many people at Tomorrowland.

Garnizoen, like many other big festivals, takes security and safety seriously. They want everyone to have a good time, so they encourage people to leave any drugs at the entrance. Even though the police were less noticeable this year, they are still there, and the festival has a strict no-drug policy.

Anyone caught with drugs will be kicked out. Police mentioned that despite the serious rules, the festival went smoothly. There was only one incident, where a person was arrested and taken in for questioning by the police.

Luyten said,

“As a festival, we are maximising prevention and assistance with the help of the We Care A Lot operation, which is active at several large Belgian festivals.”
