The fire started in a room that had many flammable materials, which made it risky. Firefighters acted quickly to control the flames, stopping more damage to the house.

What caused the Sint-Jans-Molenbeek fire?

While stopping the fire, firefighters found the family’s cat unconscious in the room where the fire started. They tried to save the cat, but they could not. The residents were not injured but were very upset about losing their beloved pet. Authorities mentioned that this incident highlights the dangers of having flammable items in homes and the importance of evacuating quickly during a fire.

The apartment that caught fire is destroyed, and the whole building’s electricity is off. The police are helping residents find new places to stay.
