Brasschaat (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – KFC Brasschaat is hosting a football camp from March 3 to 7, 2025, led by Emile Mpenza. Around 60 young players will train in skills, discipline, and professionalism, with support from coach Luc Albinovanus.

KFC Brasschaat, a municipality in Belgium, located in Antwerp province, is hosting a football training camp during spring break. The camp will be held from March 3 to 7, 2025. Former Belgian international Emile Mpenza will lead it. The camp is open to young players from the U7 to U13 categories. Around 60 players are expected to participate.

Mpenza wants to improve their skills and teach them how to be professional players. He thinks that talent alone is not enough. He believes that discipline and dedication are important for a successful career.  Luc Albinovanus, the third trainer of KFC Brasschaat’s first team, will help Mpenza.

How is Emile Mpenza shaping young talents at KFC Brasschaat?

According to Mpenza, people will learn about ball control, tactical positioning, and decision-making. He mentioned that the €185 participation fee includes a full football kit, healthy snacks, and a warm lunch on the last day. There will also be a photo opportunity and other surprises. Mpenza hopes to see progress in skills and mentality by the end of the week. He might even find future stars during the camp.

Mpenza said,

The intention is to work well-disciplined this week. There are certainly talented players, but to become a professional you also have to work on a good mentality.

Oliver, a 13-year-old footballer, is attending a training camp led by former Belgian international Emile Mpenza at KFC Brasschaat. He mentioned that while initially unfamiliar with Mpenza’s career, he learned about his achievements from his father.

After experiencing Mpenza’s coaching firsthand, Oliver is filled with admiration. He describes Mpenza as a kind but effective coach who strikes a perfect balance between support and demanding excellence.

He is a very sweet and good coach”

Luc Albinovanus, a youth coach at KFC Brasschaat and a long-time acquaintance of former Belgian international Emile Mpenza, facilitated the opportunity for Mpenza to train the club’s young players.

Luc mentioned that by recognizing Mpenza’s experience and potential influence on young players he invited him to collaborate on a special training initiative. Albinovanus hopes Mpenza will impart valuable technical insights to the young participants, helping them refine their skills and develop a deeper understanding of the game.

He is focusing on finishing on goal today. I also hope he can teach our boys a lot of technical things,
