Meer (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A severe car crash on the E19 in Meer, near the Dutch border, involved a car that crashed into a truck, 1 person was seriously injured and stuck under the vehicle. 5 were hospitalized, and the accident also caused a 13-kilometre traffic jam due to the spilled orange juice freezing on the road, thus making it difficult for drivers and rescue workers.

A serious car accident happened around the afternoon of February 3, 2025, on the E19 in Meer, close to the Dutch border. A car hit the back of a truck, causing serious injuries. 1 person in the car was stuck. Emergency workers used special tools to free this person. 5 people from the accident are now being taken to a hospital in Rotterdam for urgent care. The cause of the accident is still being looked into, but it caused major delays on this road.

What caused the E19 traffic jam in Meer?

A truck carrying orange juice was involved in a crash on the E19. The impact caused the juice to spill on the highway. The cold weather made the juice freeze quickly. This created a slippery surface on the road. Officials mentioned that it is dangerous for drivers and emergency workers. Civil protection units are coming to clean the spill. They mentioned that the icy road can cause more accidents.

Traffic on the E19 in Meer is completely stopped because of the accident and clean-up work. There is a traffic jam that is 13 kilometres long. Authorities are warning drivers to stay away from the area since delays will last for several hours.

They mentioned that those who need to travel should look for different routes and check for traffic updates. Officials said that the combination of the crash, the frozen orange juice, and the many cars stuck has made things very difficult for both drivers and emergency services working at the scene.
