Lots of amazing art to see there like ‘The Calvary’ by Anthony Van Dyck which has brought in 2,000 curious visitors since June 1st.

It has been said that it’s important to be in those fancy travel books that are in different languages. We don’t get many visitors from nearby towns but we do see people from far-off places like the United States and China. We’re not claiming to be the Venice of the North or anything but it’s surprising to see lots of tourists every day in the Grote Mark needing info from our tourist office. Dendermonde got a star in the Michelin Green Guide making it the fourth city in East Flanders to get one. Ghent has three stars the most in the province while Oudenaarde and Geraardsbergen each have one star too. In Belgium cities like Spa, Bouillon, Waterloo, Kortrijk and Tongeren also have one star in the Michelin Green Guide. This star rating helps travelers find good places with interesting history and fun things to do
