Deadly truck-pedestrian collision closes E34 highway in Turnhout

Turnhout (The Brussels morning Newspaper): An accident on the E34 in Oud-Turnhout involved a truck hitting a pedestrian, resulting in a fatality. The highway was closed for several hours, causing significant traffic delays.

On 3rd September at morning, there was an accident on the E34 in Oud-Turnhout that closed the highway for several hours for traffic going to the Netherlands. The accident happened near Arendonk when a truck hit a pedestrian, and the person died.

What Led to the Fatal Truck-Pedestrian Collision on the E34 in Turnhout?

The local authorities are still looking into what happened in the accident. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, but they could not save the victim. The E34 was closed, causing a lot of traffic delays because the road was blocked for a long time while the police investigated and cleaned up. Drivers were told to find other routes while the cleanup and investigation were happening.

After the first accident on the E34 near Arendonk, where a truck hit a pedestrian, there was another crash. A passenger car ran into the same truck from the first accident. One person in the passenger car got hurt in this second crash. Emergency services quickly came to help and gave medical assistance to the injured person. The series of accidents caused major traffic problems, with the highway closed for several hours. Authorities worked to handle the situation, investigate what happened, and make sure the road was safe. It has been said that the cleanup was difficult because there were two accidents the first one with the fatality and the second crash.

The E34 finally reopened to traffic around 11:00 a.m., letting cars go back toward the Netherlands. Even though the road was open again, there were still delays as traffic slowly got back to normal.
