Cyclist injured in accident in Sint-Niklaas: Police seek witnesses

Sint-Niklaas (Brussels Morning Newspaper): A cyclist crashed into a car near Vita Hospital in Sint-Niklaas on Friday at 4 p.m. The cyclist was lightly injured. The driver left the scene. Police are investigating and need help from anyone who saw the accident or knows about the car.

A cyclist had an accident on Moerlandstraat, near the Vita hospital in Sint-Niklaas, late Friday afternoon 20th December. The incident took place around 4 pm, in front of the hospital. The injured were treated in the emergency ward of the hospital and escaped with minor injuries.

What steps are police taking to identify the driver in Sint-Niklaas?

The driver of that car stopped for a minute and then left the scene. He did not help, nor give a contact number. The police were taking the case seriously as they were investigating. The driver’s identity is unknown to the public, and people look at every possible form of evidence or tip that helps the authorities track the car driver.

The police are asking people to assist in getting out of this case, they want everyone who watched this accident happen or probably has information about the automobile. The witnesses are encouraged to contact local law enforcement for the support of the investigation and to ensure that the driver is brought to justice. The authorities hope that through community assistance, they can trace the driver and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
