Lokeren (Brussels Morning) – Poldercross delayed, Rapencross set for Nov 10, 2024. Top cyclists expected at Park Ter Beuken for muddy track action.

No Poldercross in Kruibeke this year because of work in the polders. Last year both cyclocross races were canceled due to uncertainty in finding suitable dates.

Cyclocross Fun: Rapencross Returns Nov 10

Rapencross in Lokeren is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024.Last year the Rapencross in Lokeren was supposed to happen on September 17, but the organizers thought it wasn’t the right time for a cyclo-cross race. This year, on Sunday, November 10, the International Cycling Union and Belgian Cycling have chosen this date for the Rapencross. November is perfect for muddy tracks, which cyclocross riders love. The event will be at Park Ter Beuken, offering an exciting race experience

There won’t be the Poldercross in Kruibeke this year. They’re still working in the polders so hosting a cyclo-cross race there isn’t doable right now. The Poldercross will be back in the future but this year it’s just not possible to have the race there.

Bram De Brauwer mentioned that

It’s too early to know the exact lineup for the event. Many top cyclists also compete in road races so it’s hard to predict who will join in Lokeren. They are hopeful for big names but understand that cyclists consider their schedule carefully. November seems to be a preferred time for many pros, so they are optimistic about the turnout on November.
