Cities Bilzen and Hoeselt have teamed up to develop a new cultural centre called Cultuurhuis Bilzen-Hoeselt. This new facility will offer all artistic activities and events. The goal of this Cultural House is to provide a welcoming space for the big and the small performances-theatre, music, and comedy.

Beyond just a venue for shows, it focuses on celebrating different forms of art, supporting local artists and cultural groups, and encouraging community involvement. It has been said that the initiative highlights the importance of heritage and creative expression, ensuring that the cultural life of the merged city is accessible to everyone.

What cultural events are happening at Cultuurhuis Bilzen-Hoeselt?

De Kimpel in Bilzen and Ter Kommen in Hoeselt will keep hosting events, but the Cultuurhuis wants to bring culture to more places that show off the area’s history and creativity. They plan to use spots like Blondeswinning in Grote-Spouwen for smaller or outdoor events and ‘t Fabriek in Hoeselt as a creative center.

The Cultuurhuis also aims to turn unused churches into places for cultural activities. The Alderman for Culture, says this project will be more than just performances. By mixing traditional and modern art and using local spaces, Cultuurhuis Bilzen-Hoeselt hopes to make the community richer and connect people to both local and global culture.
