Ghent (Brussels Morning Newspaper): On Saturday 19th October, a child died in an apartment on Leiekaai. The 55-year-old father and 41-year-old mother were arrested for causing harm. They were released under conditions, but the prosecutor plans to appeal.

Both parents were arrested and taken to a judge in Ghent. They are a 55-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, and they face charges of causing harm that led to their child’s death without intending to kill. The court allowed them to be released under certain conditions, but the public prosecutor’s office plans to appeal this decision. As a result, the parents will remain in jail for another two weeks unless the judge decides to release them sooner.
