Brussels open air festival celebrating culture and society outdoors

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): On 31 August 2024 the very first Brussels Open Air Festival will pay homage to the city’s outdoor partying tradition with a variety of artists set to perform in several venues and an expected attendance of around 15000 people.

It’s just over a year since partying was declared an intangible heritage of Brussels so organizers are going big with the first Brussels Open Air Festival. Bloody Louis and 21AM will set Poelaertplein alight C12 and Crevette Records Congres and Kapla Dance Spanjeplein.

What makes the Brussels Open Air Festival a cultural highlight?

Theres Vostock at Vauxhall and Smach Evenementen who want to party at De Brouckèreplein. Out of 22 ideas submitted a panel of experts picked these projects for the festival.  The event could gather about 15000 people ready to have a good time. Big parties and clubbing are among the top reasons  people visit Brussels.

The newsletter article says that Brussels is globally recognized for its prominent nightclub scene however currently it is distinguished for its outdoor festivities at the heart of town. This recent venture comes after an earlier one Club Open Air which was initiated in summer 2021 amidst the COVID-19 outbreak with an objective to revive and enliven both urban spaces as well as nightlife activities.
