Brasschaat caregiver T. denies assault on Hélène and Rosalia

Brasschaat (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – In Brasschaat, 26-year-old caregiver T. allegedly assaulted elderly residents Hélène and Rosalia at the Salve centre. Arrested June 13, 2025, released under strict conditions; investigation ongoing.

As GVA News reported, on June 13, 2025, T., the caregiver accused of assaulting 2 elderly persons at the Salve residential care center in Brasschaat, Antwerp region, Belgium, was taken into custody. The investigating judge ordered T. to remain electronically monitored while the investigation continued.

In September 2025, the indictment chamber ruled that he could be released under stringent requirements. The investigation continues. Record indicates that T. has no prior convictions and his criminal record is clear. 

“My client denies all the facts,”

confirms Evelyn Robberechts, the man’s lawyer.

What happened to Hélène and Rosalia at the Brasschaat Care Centre?

His lawyers were granted initial access to the case file on Friday, Sep 26, 2025, allowing them to review the evidence and begin their inquiries. Police continue to collect evidence, assess documentation, and evaluate all parts of the occurrence. 

2 elderly inhabitants were severely injured at Salve, a residential care home in Brasschaat operated by the Armonea nursing home group. On June 11, 2025, staff discovered 88-year-old Hélène with serious bruising over her body. 90-year-old Rosalia showed bruising on her neck. 

The staff immediately notified the police and started an internal investigation. CCTV footage showed 26-year-old T., a caregiver who had worked at the centre for only a few weeks, entering the residents’ room shortly before the injuries were discovered.
