Belgium’s Beer Production and Economic Challenges

Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Belgium made 99 million liters less beer in 2023 than in 2022 a 5% drop in Europe beer production. Germany stayed as the top producer and the Netherlands sent  the most beer.

It has been reported that Belgium made 99 million liters less beer in 2023 than in 2022. In Europe less beer was made and dropped by 5%. Belgium made 2.047 billion liters in 2023 which is 99 million liters less than the 2.146 billion liters made in 2022. There were 396 million fewer pintjes than to the previous year.

How Much Beer Did Top Europen Countries Produce in 2023?

Germany was the largest beer producer in Europe at 7.2 billion liters and confirming its position as a brewing powerhouse even by going flat over the year to operations end-2020 saw it remain on top of Europe with volumes holding steady from earlier levels through full year Spain stood in second place offering 4 billion liters Poland took third with 3.5 billion liters and the Netherlands came fourth presenting as much as 2.4 billion litres. Belgium just made it in the top five with a little over 2 billion liters.Last year the Netherlands exported most beer – 1.8 billion liters sent away in 2023 as well. For example Belgium and Germany each sold 1.6 billion liters where France drank the most beer from within EU borders 0.9 billions of litres were imported. Love for European beer  Britain imported 0.8 bn litres of beer nearby. The production of non-alcoholic beer rose 13.5% to 1.8 billion liters.
