Belgium health officials prepare for Mpox spread amid outbreaks

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A worldwide health emergency was announced by WHO in view of mpox outbreaks across 13 nation states in Africa. In response Belgium is readying up vaccinations as its officials keep watch over new more lethal strain surfacing from new cases of mpox which are continuing to appear in other regions too.

A traveler from Africa brought Mpox to Sweden and the country has reported its only case yet. Mpox outbreaks are ongoing in Congo and 13 other African nations as well. According to the World Health Organization more cases may be seen all over the world.  A team based in Belgium is investigating and will make recommendations on how to manage the situation next week. These recommendations would be used by health officials in making decisions aimed at preventing further spread of the virus.

 What actions are Belgium health officials taking against Mpox clade 1B?

 Belgium is still monitoring closely and has vaccines at the ready as a precautionary measure.  Clade 1B emerged as a new variant of mpox that is more dangerous than its predecessors such as one responsible for large scale health issues in the year 2022 alone. Feverish eruptions are some of the symptoms associated with this virus together with fatigue accompanied by muscle pain and lymph node enlargement lasting several weeks The WHO said its a big emergency to get money fast. They will use this money for tracing contacts, doing tests and giving vaccines. Mpox spreads through being close to someone not like Covid-19 which mostly spreads through the air.
