Belgium faces rain and thunderstorms amid warm weather pattern

Belgium (The Brussels morning newspaper): A wavy disturbance that brings rainfall and thunderstorms mostly in the southeastern part of Belgium has been reported. Precipitation amounts could exceed 20mm. There is a yellow alert issued for Friday morning after which drier weather will occur during the weekend where temperatures may rise to 30°C  in the southern.

Belgium is currently under a “wavy disturbance” bringing with it rains and thunderstorms especially in the southeast that are expected to bring more than 20mm of rain. A yellow warning was issued for Friday morning followed by drier conditions over the weekend including temperatures rising up to 30°C in most parts of southern region. At present, from northern Europe to the Iberian Peninsula Belgium has a wave of disturbances .As the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) reported that this weather pattern coming after two days warmer.Friday will bring another wave for this disturbance, bringing rain and thunder but of all parts most severely affected will be probably the south.

What weather conditions are expected in Belgium this weekend?

The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) mentioned that in the far southeast that they anticipate heavy showers with thunderstorms soon. They predict over 20 mm of rain falling within 6 hours. A yellow weather warning has been issued for potential thunderstorms from 08:00 to noon on Friday. The Ministry of Interior has activated helpline number 1722 because of the expected weather conditions. If you have storm or water damage and need help from the fire brigade, you can apply online or call 1722. Only call 112 for life-threatening emergencies to keep that line free for urgent situations.

On Friday, it will rain in most of the country  especially in the morning. Coastal areas will stay dry. In the afternoon, the central parts of Belgium will also become drier. Temperatures will be between 19°C in the Ardennes and 25°C in the far south. This weekend  it will be sunny and warm again. Saturday might start a bit cloudy in the north  but the sun will come out later. Temperatures will reach 23°C by the sea and up to 30°C in the south. On Sunday, it will start dry and sunny but clouds may build up later  leading to possible showers, maybe even thundery in some areas. Temperatures will be between 26°C and 30°C. On Monday, expect more showers  becoming heavier during the day and possibly turning into thunderstorms.
