Roeselare (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Roeselare’s Christmas village has opened on the Grote Markt with an ice rink, Winter Café, and a Radio 2 studio offering live broadcasts, performances, and Top 2000 programming through December 31, 2025.

As VRT News reported, the Christmas village on Roeselare’s Grote Markt is now open for visitors. Radio 2 has set up a live studio at the Grote Markt as part of the festivities. Starting Monday, Dec 8, 2025, dozens of programs will be broadcast live, including music, interviews, and local news. The first show will be hosted by Peter Van de Veire and Margaux, who will present “Good Morning Morgen!”.

What events and live broadcasts will Radio 2 host at the Roeselare Christmas village 2024?

Many well-known Radio 2 presenters will work from the studio on Roeselare’s Grote Markt until Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The West Flanders regional broadcast, which shows daily from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., will also come live from the Christmas village. The program includes performances by several well-known artists.

Officials mentioned that the main attraction will be Radio 2’s Top 2000, which will be broadcast 24 hours a day from Roeselare between Christmas and New Year’s. Listeners are waiting to see whether a new number-one will appear or if Gorki’s “Mia” will stay at the top of the list again this year.

Benjamin Schollaert from Radio:

“We also invite several well-known chefs for a cooking workshop with tasty snacks in the Kitchen of Roeselare.”

The Radio 2 holiday broadcasts have always occurred in many locations throughout Flandoren since they began in 2003, and as recently as 2019, Roeselare hosted Radio 2’s end-of-year holiday program. The Christmas market along the Grote Markt was first launched in 2015 and has quickly established itself as a major destination during the winter months.

The Top2000 show has been a part of the Radio 2 programming every December since its inception in 1999, drawing thousands of listeners each year from Christmas Day to the New Year.
