Veerle’s women dies after her Husband hits in the driveway

Laakdel (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A 55-year-old woman in Veerle, Laakdal, died Friday evening, Nov 21, 2025, after her 54-year-old husband accidentally hit her with his car. Police confirmed no foul play; he receives support.

As VRT News reported, an accident took place on Friday evening, Nov 21, 2025, in Veerle, near Laakdal, in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. Around 5:30 PM, a 55-year-old woman was standing in her driveway on Hulsestraat when her husband, a 54-year-old, accidentally struck her with his car. Emergency services arrived quickly, but the woman died from her injuries. 

What happened in Veerle Laakdal incident?

The Geel-Laakdal-Meerhout police confirmed the accident and said there were no signs of criminal activity. Commissioner Eric Cenens described the incident as a tragic accident. Authorities are conducting standard procedures to investigate and document the circumstances. 

After investigating the accident in Veerle, police confirmed that there was no foul play. The 54-year-old husband stated to the police, explaining the incident. The man is now receiving support from victim services to help him deal with the trauma. Police stressed that the accident was unintentional and not caused by negligence or criminal behaviour. 

Veerle, near Laakdal, has seen a few serious incidents in recent years. In April 2025, a 49-year-old woman was stabbed in the village, prompting a police investigation. In January 2022, a car crashed into a building in the same area.
