Lokeren (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Lokerse Feesten’s 50th edition adds a site‑wide gallery and 360° LED wall. Spokesperson Steven Latré reports 10,000 attendees, positive feedback, and safe, improved experiences for acts like Kygo and Amber Broos.

As VRT News reported, Lokerse Feesten is marking its 50th edition with a major change to the festival site in Lokeren. A gallery has been built around the entire area. The size of the grounds has not been increased, and no additional tickets will be issued; however, the new structure will create more space. According to spokesperson Steven Latré, the goal is to offer a better experience for attendees while keeping the well-known atmosphere of the festival.

What new features mark Lokerse Feesten’s 50th edition in Lokeren?

The new gallery at Lokerse Feesten will be closely monitored to ensure everything remains safe. Security staff will limit how many people can go up at the same time. Organisers have warned that anyone who throws drinks or other objects from the gallery will face costs for any damage or cleanup.

For its 50th year, Lokerse Feesten has added more than just the new gallery. The festival now has a 360-degree LED wall built all around the site. Spokesperson Steven Latré says it is similar to the screens seen in modern football stadiums.

He mentioned that the LED wall will show visuals during concerts, add special effects to the shows, and give sponsors a place to be seen. This year is a trial run for the system, but Latré says that if it works well, the LED wall will stay and become a regular part of the festival in the years ahead.

“The kickoff was successful,”

said the spokesperson after the first evening.

“There were no significant incidents. There were just under 10,000 people in the square.”

The new changes at Lokerse Feesten have received very positive feedback from both performers and visitors. Well-known acts like Kygo and Amber Broos were quick to use the LED wall. Officials mentioned that the gallery stands also became popular right away, as they are open to everyone.

According to spokesperson Steven Latré, the team is ecstatic with the result and recognised the hundreds of volunteers who worked incredibly long hours to build their gallery and LED wall. Mr. Latré mentioned that this is another milestone in the history of Lokerse Feesten.

Lokerse Feesten is one of Belgium’s well-known summer music festivals, held each year in the city of Lokeren since 1975. The event has grown into a major stop on the festival calendar, attracting big international names and thousands of visitors over its multi-day run.

This year marks its 50th edition, a milestone that organisers wanted to celebrate with bold changes to the festival grounds, including the addition of a gallery and a 360-degree LED wall to transform how people experience the shows.
