Hasselt (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Limburg Pride will be held in Hasselt this Sunday, July 13, 2025, with a parade of 1,000 people, 60 tents, music by Belle Perez, Bart Kaell, and 2 Fabiola. Organisers are Bert and Jasper Brone.

As VRT News reported, Limburg Pride will be held in Hasselt for the first time this Sunday, July 13, 2025. They mentioned that it is an important day for the LGBTQIA+ community in the province. The event follows earlier Pride celebrations in Brussels and Antwerp. The parade will take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will go around Hasselt’s inner ring road.

About 1,000 people will join the march. Some will walk, and others will ride on decorated trucks. Near the city centre, there will be a Pride Village. It will have 60 tents. The tents will offer food, support, and information. LGBTQIA+ groups and allies will be there to welcome visitors.

How is Hasselt preparing for a safe and inclusive Pride?

The festival is planned with some music and DJs. Among the many performers will be Belle Perez, a singer of Latin pop, and Bart Kaell, who is a popular Flemish singer. The dance-pop group 2 Fabiola will also be present. There will be DJs spinning all day and into the night. The organiser, Bert Brone, also stated that they will have all of the experiences that they expect from Pride, a program for everyone, and a celebratory vibe.

The police in Limburg are ready to make sure the event in Hasselt goes safely and smoothly. They had a meeting on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with the city officials to plan everything out. They talked about how to handle the crowds, safety rules, and what to do if something goes wrong. Police spokesperson Febe Coenen said they are looking at all the possibilities and are prepared for anything.

“We’re constantly monitoring the situation with teams on site and cameras,”

Coenen continues.

“A command center ensures everything runs smoothly before, during, and after the event.”

According to the police, a main part of the safety plan is at Kolonel Dusartplein, a key spot for the event. They mentioned that this area will be fully fenced off and covered with tarpaulins. Organizer Jasper Brone said this is for practical and symbolic reasons. The covers will protect people who haven’t revealed their identity yet, so they can join the event without worry.
