Sint-Genesius-Rode (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The Belgian train company NMBS plans a new 300-car parking garage with electric car chargers and solar panels at Sint-Genesius-Rode station, including a new tunnel, parking, and a car-free area. Awaiting government approval.

The train company in Belgium, NMBS, is planning to build a big new parking garage near the train station in Sint-Genesius-Rode. Officials mentioned that the garage will be big enough to hold over 300 cars, and it will have special spaces for electric cars to charge.

This is because a new law in Belgium says that all new parking garages have to have charging stations for electric cars. The garage will also have solar panels on the roof to make electricity for the station and the bike storage area.

Will NMBS improve the Sint-Genesius-Rode station with new parking, a tunnel, and a car-free area?

The Belgian train company is also constructing a new outdoor parking facility alongside the garage. They are also constructing a new tunnel beneath the train tracks to facilitate easy and safe access to the train platforms for people. This new tunnel will replace an older one.

The train company is waiting for permission from the government before it can start building. Once they get permission, they can start making these changes to the train station.  They think this will make the station better for everyone and help more people use the train.

The Belgian train company wants to transform the area around the train station in Sint-Genesius-Rode. They want to transform it into a place where cars cannot drive anymore. This is due to the fact that there is a high amount of traffic at rush hour, which is problematic for individuals taking the train and residents in the surrounding area. They hope this makes the station a more suitable place to travel.

The Belgian train company, NMBS, wishes to construct more parking areas in the vicinity of the train station in Sint-Genesius-Rode. Officials mentioned that they are introducing new rail lines that will make it quicker to travel both to and from Brussels.
