Zeebrugge PBI Fruit Juice workers return, demand changes

Zeebrugge (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Workers at PBI Fruit Juice Company in Zeebrugge returned to work after 2 days of protest, giving management until Monday at 2 p.m. to address concerns or face potential strike action.

The workers at PBI Fruit Juice Company in Zeebrugge, a municipality of Bruges, Belgium,  went back to work after 2 days of protesting, but they are still not happy. The company leaders will meet with them today, April 11, 2025, to talk about how they will work together in the future.

The workers have given the company until Monday, April 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. to fix things. If the company doesn’t make changes by then, the workers might go on strike again. The workers and the company leaders are not getting along very well. The workers want the company to change how they work, and the company needs to figure out how to make everyone happy before Monday.

Demonie says,

“We hope that the management will take us seriously. That they will do something about the policy, about the way they treat the staff. We hope that they will also keep their promises.”

Will PBI Fruit Juice workers in Zeebrugge strike again after Monday?

Workers at PBI Fruit Juice Company in Zeebrugge went on strike earlier this week. This strike stopped the company from making Tropicana juices and other products. The workers are unhappy with how the company is run since it was bought by a French group 4 years ago. They say the company leaders are not nice and don’t care about them. The workers want the company to make changes. 

A French company called PAI bought PBI Fruit Juice Company in 2021.  The company is located in Zeebrugge.  Before that, PepsiCo owned the company.  Since PAI took over, the workers say things have gotten worse. 

They mentioned that the company leaders are not nice and only care about making money. They say they don’t care about the workers. The workers are unhappy and don’t feel like they are part of the company anymore.
