Paris (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – As a result of a meeting held on the fringes of the Munich Security Conference, the foreign ministers of the G7 nations have reaffirmed their backing for strengthening Ukraine, stating that strong security guarantees were now required to ensure that the war could begin again once a potential peace deal had been concluded.

The discussion between the chief delegates of the USA, Germany, France, Britain, Canada, Italy, Japan, and the European Union was also accompanied by their Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha.

How is the Munich Security Conference shaping Europe’s defense plans?

According to the statement, new sanctions against Moscow are not out of the question but would turn on whether the nation was scheduled to enter into serious discussions on the future of Ukraine, vowing it long-term security and peace as a sovereign country, as well as territorial integrity.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) concludes today with a plan that includes the European security architecture, rapid EU accession of the Balkan nations, and Europe’s competitiveness.

In their remarks, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock were among those pushing for Europe and Ukraine to be engaged in discussions between the USA and Russia on a potential end to the war.

No decisions on Ukraine without Ukraine, no decisions on Europe without Europe,

cautioned Zelenskiy.

How is Europe responding to Trump’s approach to the Ukraine war?

Trump’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, reacted evasively to inquiries regarding this without determining how Europeans might be engaged. When questioned whether Europe would be at the table for talks, Kellogg stated it was all a case of interpretation:

Define ‘at the table’,

he stated.

According to experts. European Union heads of state and government are considering a special meeting at short notice in reaction to the path taken by US President Donald Trump concerning a possible solution to the fighting in Ukraine.

There are ongoing talks between leading European politicians about a possible informal meeting, but nothing has been finalized yet,

stated the Élysée Palace.
