On March 16, there was an attempted burglary at a house on Schoolstraat in Bonheiden. The homeowners were away but found signs of the break-in when they got home that evening. They noticed damage to a kitchen window, showing someone tried to get in. The federal police lab came to investigate and looked for fingerprints and other clues to find the burglar. Lies Verreet, a spokesperson for the local police, said the evidence is very important for the investigation.

The 44-year-old Albanian man denies any involvement in the attempted burglary in Bonheiden. The public prosecutor brought him before a judge, who decided to arrest him after more questioning. He is now in prison, and the local police are looking into whether he is linked to other thefts.
