Halle (Brussels Morning Newspaper): On November 11, which is Armistice Day marking the end of World War I in 1918, Princess Natasha and Prince Joery celebrated the start of the carnival in Halle, Belgium. They completed fun tasks alongside 11 participants each. The next carnival is scheduled for March 29-31, 2025.

November 11, known as Armistice Day, marks the end of World War I. This date, 11/11, is also called “the number of fools,” representing fun and mischief. It kicks off the carnival season in several countries, including Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, where celebrations begin at 11:11 a.m. On this day in Halle, Belgium, famous for its lively carnival, the newly chosen carnival prince and princess take part in playful tasks to prove their spirit. Completing these challenges earns them a special place in the festivities, making them key figures in Halle’s vibrant carnival celebrations.

What events mark Princess Natasha’s Baptism and Prince Joery’s Carnival Day in Halle?

Princess Natasha was baptized last night at 7:30 p.m. at Oudestrijdersplein. She arrived dressed as a ‘gendarme’ in a 2CV car and brought 11 sets of twins, 11 fancy ladies in fur coats, and 11 plumbers with her. After making soup and sewing a flag, she completed her tasks and joined the Order of the Princesses. Natasha said, “From childhood, you know that the 11th is the start of the carnival season. Everyone comes out to enjoy the fun, and now we can look forward to the carnival weekend.”

Prince Joery was very busy on the 11th of November. He went to cafĂ© Blauw-Geel at 8:33 a.m. with 11 nurses, 11 ‘wannabe princes’, and 11 cyclists. After that, he went to some local cafĂ©s for more tasks. He did a great job and is now part of the Order of Tastendeuvel. Prince Joery said, “It’s fun and playful. Today has been nice. November 11 is special, and soon we will know the new candidates for the prince election.” Halle Carnaval will be on March 29, 30, and 31 next year.
