Mechelen (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Travelers between Mechelen and Willebroek and Mechelen and Londerzeel will use replacement buses due to railway maintenance by NMBS and Infrabel until 3 November. This work aims to enhance safety and improve level crossings.
From 26th October until Sunday, November 3, travelers between Mechelen and Willebroek and between Mechelen and Londerzeel, will have to take replacement buses because of railway maintenance. The Belgian National Railway Company (NMBS) and rail manager Infrabel announced this change. The replacement buses will serve the parts of the train routes that are not running, ensuring that passengers can still travel.
How are train services affected by maintenance in Mechelen?
During the autumn break, work is done to renew and maintain the tracks and improve several level crossings. Infrabel is making these changes to make the rail network safer and better. Travelers are advised to check the NMBS app for real-time updates, including replacement bus schedules and any changes to travel times due to the work.
No trains can run on the route in either direction, but replacement buses will stop at all the stations, according to NMBS. Next week, train services between Mechelen and Leuven, and Mechelen and Brussels will change, with some trains leaving at different times or being rerouted. There won’t be extra trains during rush hour between Dendermonde and Mechelen, Sint-Niklaas and Mechelen, and Leuven and Mechelen.
