Roeselare (Brussels Morning Newspaper): In a police operation in Roeselare and Izegem, officers checked 30 people. They found 7 breaking the law, including drug issues and one arrest. Police chief Curd Neyrinck highlighted the importance of these checks for safety and plans to do more in the future.

In a police operation in Izegem and Roeselare, officers from different police zones worked together to check for crime and safety issues. In just a few hours, they stopped and searched many people some suspects with warrants were arrested, and several people had stolen items. They also caught individuals without proper immigration papers and took them in for further investigation.

What were the results of the recent police operation in Roeselare?

In checking for crime, police focused on traffic and parking violations around the stations. They issued fines for drunk driving, driving without a valid license, and illegal parking. The cooperation among police zones made the busy station areas safer and more accessible. They mentioned that this operation highlighted the importance of working together to maintain public safety and effectively address various offenses.

According to police chief Curd Neyrinck, out of 30 people checked, 7 had broken rules. Some had small amounts of cannabis, one was stopped for showing off, and a person with an arrest warrant was arrested and taken to Bruges prison. All these problems happened near the Roeselare station, and there were no issues in Izegem. The chief mentioned that they don’t always get results like this, but it shows that checks are important, and they plan to do more.
