Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Due to ground sinking, officials closed the Rosa Parks bus stop in Brussels, affecting local bus services. MIVB spokesperson Laurent Vermeersch announced route changes starting on 12th October at 3 p.m. Alderman Bart Dhondt indicated detours may last “a few days” for safety.

Due to a small sinking in the ground, officials have closed the affected road. This has caused changes in local bus services, and the Rosa Parks stop will no longer be used because it’s unsafe for buses. The decision was made to ensure the safety of passengers and the public.

What are the bus route changes at Rosa Parks?

MIVB spokesperson Laurent Vermeersch said that starting at 3 p.m. on 12th October, all bus routes that usually go through the Rosa Parks stop will be changed. These changes are important to keep things running smoothly and to avoid the area with the sinking ground. People who use the Rosa Parks stop should pay attention to the new routes and plans.

Brussels Alderman for Mobility Bart Dhondt, from the Ecolo-Groen party, spoke about the recent road closures caused by a small sinking in the ground. He couldn’t say how long the detours would last, but he mentioned they would likely be in place for “a few days.” The affected area is a small side street mainly used by buses and local traffic, which helps manage traffic flow. Because of this, the detours will have a big effect on bus services in the region. Dhondt told residents that the changes to public transport won’t affect other traffic. The changes to the bus routes are needed for safety and to stop more problems with the sinking ground. MIVB, the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company, is working to make these changes smoothly so that local traffic can keep moving without big delays.
