Charleroi (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): From September 30 at 10 PM to October 1, Brussels Airport will stop all departing flights due to a union protest over worker conditions, impacting travelers significantly. Charleroi Airport will operate at 30% capacity.

From Monday evening, September 30 at 10:00 PM until midnight on Tuesday, October 1, there will be a day of action that will stop all departing flights from Brussels Airport. No flights will be allowed to leave during this time. Incoming flights won’t be affected and will still operate as planned. This means that planes arriving at Brussels Airport can land and continue normally, but passengers should expect no departures during this time.

What impact will the October 1 Union Protest have on flights at Brussels and Charleroi Airports?

Unions are planning a protest at Brussels Airport because they believe that trying to make more money is hurting workers. They say that jobs are less valued, pay is going down, and job security is getting worse. This protest will mostly stop flights from leaving, and Brussels Airlines has already announced they will cancel many flights on October 1. While this will cause problems for travelers, the unions think it’s important to show how working conditions in the airport industry are getting worse.

On October 1, Charleroi Airport will also have big problems because of the protest. The airport will only be working at 30 percent of its normal capacity, so it can handle very few flights. This means many flights will probably be canceled or delayed all day. The issues at Charleroi Airport will affect both incoming and outgoing flights. Passengers flying from or through Charleroi should be ready for possible cancellations or long delays because the airport won’t be able to manage regular flights. Travelers should keep checking for updates and try to make other plans if they can.

Passengers with canceled flights at Charleroi Airport on October 1 will be notified by their airlines. It has been said that for those who are still flying, it’s really important to be careful. Travelers should get to the airport at least 3 hours early to handle possible delays with security and check-in since things will be running slowly. They mentioned that it’s best to only bring hand luggage because the baggage services might not work well. This means there’s no guarantee that checked bags will be handled on time or at all. By sticking to hand luggage, travelers can avoid issues with lost or delayed bags and make their trip through the airport smoother during the disruptions.
