Deadly shooting in Koekelberg Brussels police investigate tragic incident

Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A café located in Koekelberg was the site of gunfire that left one man dead causing a lot of tension last Thursday night. The cops are now looking into this matter after making an arrest although they would still like some more eyewitnesses present at the scene who could shed light on what really transpired.

Scary events occurred on a Thursday night in Koekelberg. A couple of gunshots rang out near a café that caused people to get frightened. As soon as they heard the shots the witnesses notified the law enforcement officers. The atmosphere in an ordinarily busy and sociable area became so tense as directed by the erroneous news of the police rushing into the café. When they arrived there the officers found someone who had been shot. He seemed to be seriously injured hence there was no way that paramedics could help him heal any longer.  He had been fatally wounded.

What led to the shooting incident in Koekelberg?

Residents of the area are very much astonished and angry by the whole occurrence. Police are working hard to comprehend why such an incident took place and who was behind it all. They aim at ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended so as to bring about justice for the affected person besides ensuring general security following this terrifying event. A cordon was drawn around the coffee shop following which police collected evidence and ensured public safety. This action was important in protecting themselves against any tampering with the crime scene and also making sure everything was in place at night time so that they could piece together what had really happened there. The police suspect they have arrested a suspect tied with the shooting. They have not revealed his identity or even mentioned charges against him. This arrest marks a significant advance in the investigation of this case but it leaves many questions unanswered about its motive and about the role played by this individual in particular. The officers are working on collecting information about all details surrounding entrance into the world of violence that night. People who saw something should come forth or those who have heard something. It is hoped that these efforts will make life easier for residents residing near the neighborhood where confusion was created by that incident.
