Stabbing brawl in Tienen: Two men injured, investigation underway

Tienen (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Two men 39 and 37 got into a fight in Tienen resulting in serious injuries. The 39-year-old was stabbed while the 37-year-old had head cuts. Both are under investigation for attempted murder.

The police got a call about a man bleeding a lot in Leuven at night. The 39-year-old man from Leuven had been stabbed multiple times in the ribs. He was taken to the hospital by emergency services for treatment. Another report came in about a second injured man found in a house in Tienen. This 37-year-old man who didn’t have a permanent address had cuts on the back of his head. The Leuven public prosecutor’s office is looking into both incidents to find out how they are connected and what caused these injuries.

What led to the stabbing fight between two acquaintances in Tienen?

The two men knew each other and got into a fight at a house in Tienen. The 39-year-old from Leuven got stabbed in the ribs and the 37-year-old man with no fixed address got cuts on the back of his head. They both hurt each other during the altercation. The Leuven public prosecutor’s office is looking into what really happened during the fight. Right now they don’t know exactly how the injuries happened and what led to the confrontation. The investigation is trying to figure out what happened during the fight and how the two guys are connected.

The prosecutor asked a judge to think about charging the men with trying to kill each other and intentionally hurting each other that they couldn’t work. The local police in the Getevallei area will investigate the case. The 39-year-old guy from Leuven who got stabbed is in bad shape and still in the hospital. The 37-year-old man with cuts on his head has been taken into custody. The judge will decide if he stays in jail while they keep looking into the case.
