Tragic Car Crash Claims Elderly Woman’s Life in Ostend

Ostend (Brussels Morning): The accident occurred when the driver struck the woman at a bus stop on Stroombanklaan. Despite emergency efforts the woman’s injuries were fatal authorities are examining the driver’s actions and whether any substances were involved.

Yesterday in Ostend there was a car crash where an elderly lady passed away. It happened because a 28-year-old driver made a mistake while driving. The authorities in West Flanders took action by taking away the driver’s license for 15 days because of what happened. Resources shows how serious the situation is and they’re still looking into what more legal actions and responsibilities need to be taken regarding the accident.

The driver was coming back from a visit to a summer bar in the area. People nearby tried to lift the car to help the woman but they couldn’t do it in time as help arrived late. A traffic expert mentioned that the accident happened because the driver made a mistake while leaving a driveway. Due to this the driver’s license has been taken away for 15 days. Right now the public prosecutor’s office is looking into the case including doing tests to check for any substances in the driver’s system.
