The Lotto Brussels Jazz Weekend attracted 200,000 music lovers between Friday evening and Sunday. The organizers announced this on Sunday evening. The festival, which was spread over five locations in Brussels, hosted more than 150 performances.

The number of visitors is in line with 2022 and 2019, the year before corona. According to the organizers, the figures should allow the event to become one of the top 5 free jazz festivals in Europe in the medium term. They owe the success of this year’s edition to the beautiful weather.

The festival may be free, but the organizers estimate that visitors spent almost 30 million euros in total. “In this way, they support 10,037 jobs in the region (employees in restaurants, hotels, bars, cafes…) and provide 6.85 million euros in revenue for the various levels of government through the taxes collected on these expenses,” says It.

The Lotto Brussels Jazz Weekend closed on Sunday evening with performances on the Grand Place of Brussels, at the Stock Exchange and on Sint-Katelijneplein. A different jazz style can be discovered at each location.
