20-year-old woman dies in a motorcycle accident in Westende

Westende (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A 20-year-old woman lost control of her motorcycle along Westendelaan in Westende near Middelkerke, hit a tree, and then crashed into a ditch. Death was confirmed with no signs of foul play.

Last night, February 2, 2025, a motorcycle accident took place near Middelkerke in Westende. She was on her motorcycle and lost control. She hit the roadside and tumbled into a tree and later into a ditch. The police and fire services acted quickly to rescue the woman from the ditch with emergency services.

They found that the woman had died instantly because her injuries were very severe. Officials mentioned that the accident took place on Westendelaan, a busy road in the area. This road was closed to traffic so that emergency workers could safely do their jobs and investigate the scene.

What caused the fatal motorcycle accident in Westende?

2 witnesses who were also on motorcycles saw the accident. They helped to clarify what occurred before the accident. Officials mentioned that details were cleared, so the public prosecutor’s office decided not to send an accident expert to the scene. 

According to officials, there were no signs of foul play or complicated factors that needed further investigation. There were no other vehicles involved.

Westendelaan was closed for several hours while the authorities dealt with the situation and cleaned the area. According to the public prosecutor’s officer, normally, accidents like this lead to thorough investigations, but the clear details allowed for a quick conclusion.
