California Governor Galvin Newsom unveiled a new online color-coded map that will track when indoor businesses such as restaurants and movie theaters can re-open based on the county-by-county numbers of new coronavirus cases and positive test results.
The guidelines go into effect on August 31, the Sacramento Bee reported.
Currently, 38 out of 58 counties are in the purple or the “widespread” tier. There are also nine counties in the “Red” or “substantial” disease spread category
According to the new rules, each county can only move down to a less restrictive tier if there is a decrease in COVID-19 numbers.
