Judd Trump rejects Ronnie OSullivan comparison after thrilling Snooker World Championship win

Judd Trump has no intention of being labelled the new Ronnie OSullivan after his stunning Snooker World Championship win over John Higgins.

The 29-year-old wowed the Crucible audience as he hammered the four-time champion 18-9 with a dazzling exhibition of break-building.

The Bristolian rolled in seven centuries and eight more half centuries in an utterly dominant performance over one of the games greats.

Scoring enormous breaks at breakneck speed on his way to lifting the World Championship trophy, comparisons to Ronnie OSullivan were inevitable, but Trump is not keen on being seen as, the new Rocket.

No thank you, said Trump when he was offered this comparison. Im just my own person. You do try and take parts of everybodys game.

Mark Selbys determination, John Higgins safety game, Ronnies attacking game, you try and pick the best from all the best players and one day hopefully I can do that.

Trumps seven centuries was the most made by a player in a World Championship final and equalled the record for most in any Crucible match.

Such was the immense level of his performance that there is much talk of an era of dominance for the new world champion.

His triumph in Sheffield completed the Triple Crown for Trump after his 2011 UK Championship win and Masters title this year.

The Englishman is ready to win plenty more major titles, especially now he has got his hands on the world title, relieving the pressure of expectation that came with him beforehand.

Im not getting too carried away, every season is completely different, but if I can put the work in like I did this season and go in with the hunger like I did this season…

Itll be nice to relax in the major events without people asking if Im going to win it anymore. Its nice to get that out of the way and go into every tournament now a bit more relaxed and give it my best shot.
