Shocking footage has emerged of a fight that broke out between a Tesco employee and a customer in an alleged row over a Pot Noodle.
The clip captures the moment the employee appears to kick out an aggressive customer – who then charges at staff wielding a huge wooden stick.
Employees are forced to flee and hide inside the store on Hackney Road, London as the man runs at them brandishing the stick above his head.
Witnesses claim the brawl started over a stolen Pot Noodle, according to the Mail Online.
The video starts with a gang of people who can be seen arguing outside the supermarket while shocked shoppers look on.
One of the employees is seen to follow two people down the road before appearing to kick out one of them, who retaliates by hitting the employee with the bag.
A second Tesco worker then runs in to help before the bag is flung over the other side of the road.
But the customer runs back towards them wielding a huge wooden stick he picked up from the ground.
Harry Anderson, who filmed the video on January 16, told the Mail Online: ‘I don’t think the Tesco worker should have reacted that way at all.’
‘They showed absolutely no respect for each other – no matter who the person is you can’t do that.’
A Tesco spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: “We’re aware of this incident and are investigating what’s happened.”
It is thought it may have happened over a shoplifting accusation although there is no evidence any crime was committed.
